Taggu

Taggu is a UK cashless tipping service built around NFC wristbands worn by staff. A guest taps the band with a phone or card, chooses an amount on a Stripe-powered page, and the tip is paid straight to that staff member. It is sold to UK bars, clubs, restaurants, barbers and salons, with no monthly fee and a fixed technology fee per tip.

    Taggu says it suits any venue with staff-customer contact, including bars, clubs, restaurants, barbers, bottle service staff and salons.

    Tips go from the guest to the staff member's Stripe account; the venue does not hold or redistribute them, in line with the UK Employment (Allocation of Tips) Act 2023 as the vendor states.

Less suited to: Venues outside the UK, and venues that need a tronc service from the vendor. Terms limit service to UK-registered venues, and Taggu's own tronc service is not yet live.

    Shows tips by staff member, shift and venue, with exportable reports.

  • QR code alternative

    Guests can scan a QR code instead of tapping the wristband to reach the payment page.

  • Staff earnings view

    Staff track their tips in real time and choose their payout method.

  • Integrated tronc service (planned)

    Taggu says a tronc calculation and reporting service is in development and not yet live; until then it works alongside independent troncmasters.
