Route Planning & Delivery for Distributors
3 products listed
Introduction
A distributor with its own vans has to decide which driver takes which drops, in what order, and then prove each delivery happened. Route planning software builds the daily routes, sends them to driver apps, tracks progress and captures proof of delivery, often with a customer signature or photo. Some products go further into route accounting, where the driver invoices and collects payment at the door. Others are dispatch tools for fleets carrying chilled or frozen loads. The three profiled products cover these three shapes, so the choice depends on how your drivers work.
Who needs it
Food and drink distributors and wholesalers that deliver with their own vehicles, including van sales rounds and direct-store-delivery routes. It becomes worth having when routes are drawn by the dispatcher's memory, when missed drops and disputed deliveries cost money, or when drivers write invoices by hand.

What to look for
Route planning or route accounting. Planning tools optimise the order of stops. Route accounting tools also handle invoicing, cash and stock on the van. Decide which job drivers actually do.
Offline delivery confirmation. Drivers often lose signal. One product mentions van sales with offline proof of delivery, so ask how each product behaves without connectivity.
Chilled and frozen load support. Chilled and frozen deliveries need planning around load and time limits. One product is aimed at distributors with temperature-controlled loads.
Cloud or installed deployment. One product offers both on-premises and cloud deployment, and one is priced per user. That changes who manages the servers and how cost scales as you add drivers.
Warehouse and order connection. Routes need orders from somewhere. Check whether the product includes order entry and picking, or only receives them from your ERP.
