B2B Wholesale Ordering Portal

9 products listed

Introduction

Restaurants and cafes still place many wholesale orders by phone, text message, email and photos of handwritten lists, and someone at the supplier types them in again. An ordering portal moves that into an app or web shop where the customer sees their own prices and reorders in a few taps. Several products also use AI to read orders that arrive by email, WhatsApp or voicemail. Some are run by the supplier as a branded shop. Others are marketplaces where a buyer orders from many suppliers in one place. Who pays, and who owns the customer relationship, differs by product.

Who needs it

Food and drink wholesalers and distributors with regular restaurant, cafe and grocery customers, and the buyers who order from several suppliers. It becomes worth having when order entry takes staff hours every evening, when mistakes come from misread messages, or when customers ask to order outside office hours.

What to look for

  • Own shop or shared marketplace. A branded portal keeps customers on your own brand, while a marketplace lists you beside competitors. Check which model each product uses.

  • Who pays for the software. In some products buyers use the app free and suppliers pay, and one lists a 0% order fee for distributors. Others charge suppliers a monthly fee based on usage.

  • Capturing email and voice orders. Several products read orders from email, WhatsApp, voicemail or photos with AI. If your customers do not use apps, this matters more than the shop.

  • Accounting and ERP connection. Orders that stay in the portal must still reach invoicing and stock. Check for integration with your accounting or ERP system, or the product creates double entry.

  • Contract term and plan limits. Of the 8 profiled products, 6 are quote only, and one states a 12-month term unless the order form says otherwise. Free plans may cap features or volumes.
