Introduction

A vending operator's costs are mostly in the van and the route, so the software revolves around knowing what each machine holds before the driver leaves. These products connect to machines through telemetry devices and report sales, stock and faults remotely. They plan service routes, produce pick lists so the warehouse loads each van in advance, reconcile cash and calculate commissions owed to host sites. Many also sell cashless card readers and self-checkout kiosks for micro markets, which are small unstaffed shops in workplaces. Several vendors supply their own hardware alongside the software, so the choice often involves equipment as well as an app.

Vending, office coffee and micro market operators, from a handful of machines upwards. Software pays for itself when drivers visit machines that do not need restocking, or when cash shortages and stock-outs are found only weeks later, after the takings have gone.
