Bakery Management Software

Introduction

A bakery works to a clock that starts the night before. Orders come in from shops, cafes and standing customers, production sheets tell the bakers what to make, and deliveries leave at dawn. Bakery management software links those steps. It turns orders into a production plan, works out recipe costs and batch sizes, prints allergen and nutrition information, and produces delivery notes and invoices. Some products are back-office systems for wholesale bakeries. Others are tills for a chain of shops that also plan production. A few are small recipe-costing tools for an independent baker who wants to know the margin on each product.

Who needs it

Wholesale and craft bakeries with standing orders, delivery rounds or several shops gain the most, because errors in the production plan show up as waste or short deliveries. A single shop selling over the counter may only need recipe costing and a till. It is worth switching when the plan lives in someone's head or a whiteboard.
