Produce, Meat, Seafood & Dairy Processing Software

30 products listed

Introduction

Fresh food that is cut, packed or processed loses value by the hour, and it is often sold by weight rather than by unit. This software is built around those facts. It tracks lots from farm or animal to dispatch, records yield and waste, prints weight labels and connects to scales on the factory floor. The category is really four kinds of product under one heading: produce systems with grower settlements, meat and fish plant software, dairy systems that start at milk collection, and a small group of coffee roasting tools. Each has different core features.

Who needs it

Fresh produce packers and wholesalers, slaughterhouses and cutting plants, fish and shellfish processors, cheese makers, dairies and milk cooperatives, and some coffee roasters. It becomes worth having when weights, yields and lot numbers are written on paper, or when a retailer or regulator expects fast recall records.

What to look for

  • Features for your sector. Produce products handle grower settlements and repacking, meat and fish products handle kill lines and yields, and dairy products handle milk collection and fat-based pricing. A general system will not cover these.

  • Catch weight and scale connection. Catch weight means selling items whose weight varies. Several products link to scales and label printers, and some supply their own weigh-label workstations, so check what you must buy.

  • Built on a general ERP. Some products are add-ons to Microsoft Dynamics, Sage or Odoo systems and are delivered by consultancies. That can mean a fixed implementation project and fees beyond the licence.

  • Size of business it fits. Most products are for mid-sized plants, but a few target small artisan cheese makers or single roasteries and publish low monthly prices. Match the tool to your headcount.

  • Region and language. Dairy systems for milk collection centres come from India, Canada and the Middle East, and produce systems from North America. Check availability and support in your country.
