Restaurant Discovery & Listing Management (business-facing)

31 products listed

Introduction

Diners choose where to eat on maps, review sites and booking apps, and your entry on each one is either accurate or out of date. This category covers two related tools. The first is a dining guide or marketplace that lists your restaurant and sends you bookings or deals, often for a fee. The second is a listings manager that keeps your hours, menu and address consistent across many sites from one dashboard. Guides usually bundle a reservation tool, and some charge for each confirmed booking. Listings managers charge a subscription. Neither replaces your own website or your own guest list.

Who needs it

Restaurants that want to be found by people who do not know them yet, such as new venues, tourist areas and places with quiet nights. Listing managers suit owners with several sites or frequent menu changes. If most of your trade is regulars, this matters less than your own guest data.

What to look for

  • How you pay for bookings. Guides charge in different ways: a monthly fee, a fee for each booked guest, a bundle of referrals or a share of sales. Estimate the cost per diner.

  • Free listing versus paid promotion. Several services let you claim a listing at no cost and charge for advertising or reservations. Confirm what free actually includes.

  • Your country and language. Of the 26 profiled products, many serve one country or region, such as Japan, Thailand or Sweden. Pick the guide your local diners use.

  • Ownership of guest data. Ask whether you keep the contact details of guests who book through the guide, or whether the marketplace holds them.

  • Contract and reservation ledger. Some tie you to a yearly contract for their booking tool. Check the term before you sign.
